About Juan
Juan Barrera founded NetaCalc in 2026 and is responsible for everything published on it. Juan researches each topic in primary sources (IRS publications, forms and instructions, revenue procedures and notices), turns the rules into calculators backed by automated tests, and writes and updates the guides in English and in Spanish.
Qualifications, stated plainly
Juan is not a CPA, an Enrolled Agent or an attorney, and does not prepare tax returns or give individual tax advice. That is why NetaCalc shows its work: every figure links to its official source, the calculators are tested against IRS tables and worksheets, and every page shows when it was last updated. For decisions about your own situation, talk to a tax professional.
How each page is checked
- Find each rate, limit or date in the official IRS or SSA document for that tax year.
- Record it once in the site's data file for the year, next to the link to its source.
- Add or update automated tests before a calculator or example uses a new rule.
- Calculate every example in the guides with the same engine as the calculators, never by hand.
- Review pages when the IRS publishes changes, and fix reported errors quickly.
